NOTICE OF VOTING LOCATION
FOR NON-REGISTERED VOTERS
 

State law allows a Smithfield resident* who was unable to register as a new voter on or before the registration deadline of Saturday, October 4, 2008, to cast a limited vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, for the position of  U.S. President/Vice-President (no local candidates, no local questions) at the following designated location:

Smithfield Senior Center
Directions:  Pleasant View Avenue, to Indian Run Trial, left
onto One William J. Hawkins Trail 

*must be a Smithfield resident and 18 years old on/before November 4, 2008.

The Board of Canvassers of the Town of Smithfield will use the following Polling Locations for Town Districts 1-10 for the residential/General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2008 – Two Voting Locations have been changed/moved, as noted:

ATTENTION SMITHFIELD RESIDENTS

October 4
October 4 is the deadline to register to vote in the Presidential/General Election
on November 4.

October 14
Final date to submit application for a regular mail ballot for the November 4 Presidential/General Election.

November 4
Presidential/General Election, 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. All ten Voting locations open.
See ten (10) polling locations on separate sheet on Smithfield Website.

Please call 233-1000, ext. 116, if you have any questions. You may register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot for the Tuesday, November 4th Presidential/General Election at the Smithfield Town Hall, 64 Farnum Pike, in the Town Clerk’s Office, 1st floor, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday – Friday, or go online to: www.sec.state.ri.us/elections to download an absentee ballot application.  This site is also helpful to view your voting history and polling precinct.
