Police Officer – Smithfield Police Department: Seeking qualified candidates to establish a one year eligibility list. Applicants must be 18 or older; a U.S. Citizen; possess valid operator’s license; possess Bachelor’s Degree preferably in Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement by June 30, 2017. Maintenance Worker- Smithfield Ice Rink: Part-time, hourly. Responsibilities include general maintenance, cleaning, and upkeep of the rink. Must be able to communicate with the public, work with minimal supervision, and possess general knowledge of cleaning & maintenance. Additional responsibilities may include assisting with skate rentals and concession stand operations. High public interaction. Must be able to work 15 – 20 hours per week including nights and weekends. Rate $9.60 per hour. No benefits. Zamboni Operator: Smithfield Ice Rink: Part-time, hourly. Responsibilities include assisting the Ice Rink Manager in the general operation of the rink, operation of the zamboni, general maintenance and staff supervision. Require a high school diploma or GED. One year of experience in general operation and staff supervision. Rate is $11.15 per hour. Must be able to work approximately 15 – 20 hours per week, including nights and weekends. No benefits. Snow Plow Driver: Temporary, part-time, seasonal position available at the Department of Public Works. This is an on-call position for plowing events on an as-needed basis. Responsibilities include the operation of town-owned plow trucks with manual transmissions. Valid RI Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class B with air brake endorsement. At least three (3) years experience as a driver w/ class B CDL preferred. At least three (3) years experience plowing snow and snow removal operations. Ability to plow and operate sander for a lengthy duration is required. Requires a high school diploma or G.E.D., Salary is $18.00 per hour. No benefits.
