The Town of
Smithfield will host a clothing and household
goods collection March 20th from 9 am until 1 pm
at the Smithfield Public Works Garage located at
3 Spragueville Road (behind Dave’s Towing
Service).
Household goods including toys, furniture,
dishes, and decorative items and clothing and
other textile items in useable and non-useable
condition will be collected. Un-wearable
clothing and worn out textiles will be recycled
into new fabric. All wearable clothing and
useable household items will be donated to Big
Sisters of Rhode Island, a non-profit
organization with the mission “to reduce each
child's vulnerability and enable her to thrive
emotionally, socially and academically; to help
her grow into a strong confident young woman
ready to reach her full potential.”
|
All
clothing and textiles will be accepted.
If
your clothing or other fabric goods are
worn out and unusable, please keep them
separate from useable items. Both
natural and man-made fibers can be
processed and spun into new fabric for
use in new textile items. |
