Book Recycling Event

The Town of Smithfield will host a book collection August 16 from 9 am until 1 pm at the Smithfield Public Works Garage (3 Spragueville Road - behind Dave's Towing Service). All books collected will be donated to Hands Across the Water, a non-profit organization that provides books to areas around the world where there are not enough books to provide literacy and education. All paperback and hardcover books will be accepted with the exception of Reader's Digest Condensed books. Magazines will not be accepted.
